    Question

What is the correct way to add custom user profile fields? If this can be done by adding field names to csv columns before importing, is this as good as using a plugin like ACF?

Hey there, the plugin can export user meta if the data from whatever is modifying the user profile is stored this way. However, it does not import information — to import, you’d want to instead use Customer / Order / Coupon CSV Import, which could add user meta, but doesn’t do anything to display this information on your site.

Hey Mike, both plugins work in very similar ways in terms of what’s exported, but the CSV Exporter is probably easier since you can manipulate data in Google Sheets / Excel after exporting. Happy to answer more detailed Qs via the WooCommerce help desk though!

    Question

Are there any specific PHP modules that need to be available for this plug in to work?

    • Beka Rice

Hey Gabrielle, there are no PHP dependencies just for exporting, only for certain transfer methods (ie if you do automated FTP transfers, then cURL, openSSL, or ssh2 may be required). The plugin will notify you of dependencies when activated if they’re missing from your server.

In terms of non-PHP requirements, your site needs to accept HTTP Requests, so if it’s in maintenance mode, behind basic authentication, or using a hosts file, then these would need to be disabled to perform exports.
